Performance set-up

Technical implementation

The piece uses 3 cameras: A main camera seeing the performance from eye level, a camera on one of 5 objects that I was moving around the space, and a camera overhead that can see all 5 objects. The overhead camera went into OBS and was then streamed into TouchDesinger using NDI (Network Device Interface). From there, the image was processed. Each of the 5 objects were different colours and were tracked using a chroma key to look for specific hues. The on-screen X and Y coordinates were then used to modulate the audio being generated in VCV Rack 2. The movement of the objects would push around the particles in the visual as well. The visual that was generated was then recorded by OBS Virtual Camera. The virtual camera also took an instance of the original camera footage and put that beside the generated visual. In zoom, the OBS Virtual Camera was used as the video device to get both the generated visual and overhead camera on one screen. The other two cameras joined the zoom call as other users.
