<aside> 💫 During the pandemic, VanVogueJam teamed up with Chimerik & Vancouver Pride Society to adapt their regular dance battle event from in person to online. This allowed the participants to join from around the world without geographic restrictions. We also were able to host the event from our home base in Vancouver, while having a DJ in Toronto playing live and having the judges tuning in from LA, New York, etc. We have customized the live media playback interface using Isadora software, to create an unique controllable system for the MC/host of the Vogue Jam event. The MC/host was able to trigger different scenes live (ie. 2 dancers battle, solo dancer, judges feedback scene, etc). So there’s no need for a stage manager trying to cue each scene with tremendous amount of stress and human delay/error, keeping the online event live and seamless.
