This is a combined research between 2 projects by Chimerik似不像 - We Were One a spiritual dance research project & Ritual-Spective 迴融 a new media art project. This research investigates the embodied intelligence, somatic potentials, metaphysical connections in human being and through movement, rituals and new media technology. In the recent years, we were gifted with extraordinary human experiences that is beyond the dated Western Scientific paradigm, with more and more clear signs of calling from the universe to investigate further on energetic, somatic, cosmological and spiritual informations that are all deeply mapped and connected to our work and existence of life. From mediumship or various forms of channeling information, knowledge and wisdom, to intergenerational dialogue, to the studies of the ancient temples in relations to rituals, body and the universe.
After embarking the first international artist residency at the NKK Dance Centre in Cambodia with mentorship by the dance master Peter Chin (AD of Tribal Crackling Wind) and co-hosted by the residency co-founder Rasy Hul, the project has developed deeper in the questions and values of ritualization, divinity and interconnectivity in the transhistorical, trans-disciplinary and transcultural container.
Ritualization of physical movement, subtle body, transmission of energy—an ancient form of embodied story-telling. What is left for the contemporary lens in an ancient temple? What is the process of ritual embedded in the ancient architecture?
How is it transcultural and interdimensional?
Creating a VR space with these research and materials, as well as a choreographic dance project, and the two world may seem so far away from each other but the deeper layers are intersecting and resonating, the illusion of the physical and the virtual. Dark matter, ether, and the holographic universe.
