“Ritual-Spective 迴融” is an online experimental media art project by Chimerik 似不像. In this iteration, the artistic director Sammy Chien invites his collaborator Kazuma Glen Motomura co-create and integrate their parents’ visual art work (Jackson Chien 簡志雄 & Sally Motomura 本村紗里) with dance-technology, creating an audiovisual/film that is is joined by Vietnamese film editor Hân Phạm, sound designer/composer Christine Lee, musicians Alcvin Ryūzen Ramos , Anny Lin, John Nguyen, Gonu Kim and creative collaborator Caroline MacCaull + more artists from the Chimerik 似不像 team.

Kazuma Glen Motomura, Berlin/Tokyo based Japanese and South African experimental dance artist, and Sammy Chien 簡上翔, Vancouver/Taipei based Taiwanese-Canadian interdisciplinary media artist, investigate the intergenerational dialogue on artistic, cultural and spiritual legacy. They enter a ritual of listening, learning and processing the past to honour it and then to re-integrate the discoveries into the here and now.

Both artists are children of immigrant artists, dancing through a spiritual poem that delineates the impermanence of lineage, enrichment of absence and the invisible divisions that connects us in a deeper layer. This research phase examines the Japanese divine architecture, kanji characters and personal memories that embeds a sense of lineage, ancestry and legacy in relation with the complex world of colonialism, sociopolitical division and the spiritual nature of humanism.

「リチュアル・スペクティブ迴融」は、Chimerik（似不像）によるオンラインの実験的なメディアアートプロジェクトです。このバージョンでは、アーティストは両親の視覚芸術作品（本村紗里と ジャクソン・チェン簡志雄) をダンステクノロジーと統合し、ベトナムからの映画編集者のハン・ファムとサウンドデザイナー/作曲家のクリスティン・リー  が参加するオーディオビジュアル/映画を作成します。ミュージシャンのアルクヴィン・リューゼン・ラモス 、アニ・ーリン、ジョン・ニエム、ゴヌ・キム、クリエイティブコラボレーターの キャロライン・マクコール、そしてChimerikチームのその他のアーティストも参加しています。

カズマ・グレン本村一真は、日系・南アフリカ系で、べルリンと東京を拠点に活動しているエクスペリメンタル・ダンス・アーティストです。カズマ・グレン本村一真と、バンクーバーと台北を拠点に活動する台湾系カナダ人の学際的メディア・アーティスト、サミー・チェン簡上翔は、芸術的、文化的、精神的な遺産に関する世代間の対話について調査しています。彼らは、過去に耳を傾け、学び、理解することで敬意を表し、その発見を今ここにあるものに再統合するという舞台を披露します。

二人のアーティストは、移民のアーティストの子供であり、血筋の非永久性、不在の充実さ、そして、より深い層で私たちをつなぐ目に見えない分節を描き出すスピリチュアルな詩を通して踊ります。この研究段階では、血統、先祖、遺産を埋め込む日本の神々しい建築物、漢字、私的な記憶を、植民地主義、社会的政治的分断、ヒューマニズムの精神的性質といった複雑な世界との関係において調査しています。
